With Mattie’s affectionate temperament and hunting ability alongside Scooter’s athletic American build, pointing certification, and accomplished pedigree, this cross offers an exciting foundation for versatile hunting companions and active family dogs.

Meet Mattie Ross

Mattie is one of our heritage females, bred and raised here on our California ranch. At approximately 50 pounds, she is a compact fox-red Labrador with a kind disposition and a strong connection to her people. She’s affectionate enough to volunteer for lap duty, whether or not the lap was expecting company.

In the field, Mattie brings a strong retrieving drive, a love of water, and a close-working style. She handles rough terrain, responds to direction, and has excellent blind manners. We appreciate her enthusiasm for the job and her ability to work in partnership with her handler.

Her sire’s combination of American and English breeding contributes substance and strength while retaining a working build. Mattie brings that balance to this pairing, along with the temperament that has made her such a valued part of our ranch and breeding program.

Meet Doctor Scooter of Camelot

Scooter is a fox-red American Labrador with a lean, muscular frame and documented pointing ability. He earned his Certified Pointing Labrador title through the American Pointing Labrador Association on April 1, 2017, at just over 13 months old.

He is sired by Innishfree’s Blazing Red Ozzie CGC and out of Jimsanik’s Sadie Sue. His maternal pedigree includes Helm’s Signature Point Doctor and Helm’s Point Doctor PT, adding pointing heritage to his family tree.

Scooter’s documented orthopedic evaluations include OFA Excellent hips and Normal elbows.

An Accomplished Grandsire Behind the Cross

A standout in Scooter’s pedigree is his paternal grandsire, Black Ice’s Super Sonic Scooter MH, an AKC Master Hunter. He will be the puppies’ paternal great-grandsire.

That same branch includes Calumet’s Wild Card MH, Reno’s Black Ice MH, and FC AFC Calumet’s Super Sonic. These dogs bring documented Master Hunter, Field Champion, and Amateur Field Champion credentials into the ancestry behind this litter.

Scooter contributes his own pointing certification, supported by generations of accomplished working retrievers.

What We’re Breeding Toward

Our goal for this cross is a Labrador with the physical ability and enthusiasm to enjoy fieldwork, paired with a temperament that makes living and working together a pleasure.
